2 vols., 12mo, pp. 388; 432 + engraved frontispiece in each vol. Contemporary black straight-grained morocco, boards bordered with a gilt roll, spines gilt, marbled endpapers, edges gilt. Frontispieces foxed offset onto title-pages, occasional spotting elsewhere. Bindings somewhat rubbed. Armorial bookplate of Peter Cossart to pastedowns, later gift inscription to W.M. Hay Esqr dated 1870 from Madeira to initial blank in vol. 1.
Published as volumes 5 and 6 of a 'Works', these two contain Don Juan complete (as well as 'Hours of Idleness' and 'English Bards and Scotch Reviewers'), and were bound as such, presumably never having accompanied the rest of the set: the spines are labelled 'Don Juan / Vol. I [II]', while the title-pages refer only to the 'Works' in 6 volumes.
