Contemporary half green calf, green textured cloth boards, spine divided by wide raised bands with gilt borders, red morocco label. A few plates toned, some light offsetting. Spine slightly faded and lightly marked. Armorial bookplate of Frederick J. De Lisle to front pastedown.


A pocket edition, with tiny type, reproducing in a remarkably small space the full text of the four-volume collected works of Burns first published by M'Creery in Liverpool in 1800 plus additional secondary material. This 'Diamond' edition went through several editions of its own, of which this appears to be the first.
