A humerous novella by Angus Bethune Reach (1821-1856), an Inverness-born journalist who wrote for numerous publications (in the process helping inspire Mayhew's London Labour and the London Poor). Among them was a short-lived imitation of Punch started by Henry and James Vizetelly, who in their capacity and printers and engravers produced this volume for David Bogue.
