FIRST EDITION, 2 vols., 8vo, pp. 286, [2]; [289]-575, [1] + a total of 78 plates (2 double-page, 8 in colour) plus illustrated endpapers. Original blue cloth, spines lettered in gilt, white dustjackets printed in colour. Small glue spot to spine of vol. 2, dustjackets somewhat soiled and with some chipping and several edge tears, these reinforced internally with sellotape. Each vol. with publisher’s compliments stamp on title-page and review slip loosely inserted.
