Samuel Patrick's (1684-1748) recension of this popular 17th century Homeric lexicon. Patrick was a master at Charterhouse School, 'deeply read in the classics and ignorant and oblivious of most other matters' (DNB). He first published his Clavis Homerica in 1741.
