Soiled, uneven fading, head of spine bumped and split. Bookplate and inscription from Auchtermuchty Free Church Library to front endpapers.


A lightly satirical overview of 1830s Edinburgh and its people, affecting to be written by a German visitor recording his observations. This copy belonged to the Auchtermuchty Free Church Library and their bookplate gives their conditions and terms of lending, with the book's number added in ink: in this instance, no. 254.
