2 vols., 8vo. pp. l, [ii], 500; [iv], 463, [iii], ii, 118, [i]. Contemporary tree calf, spines divided by gilt rules, red morocco labels, numbered in gilt direct. wormtrails to bottom margin of first 60 pages of vol. 1 occasionally touching text, otherwise a little light soiling, , dampmark to first few leaves. A little scratching, some wear to extremities, spines somewhat crackled with some surface loss to vol. 1. Some pencil arithmetic to rear flyleaves of vol. 1.

Notes

Glaswegian lexicographer William Maver's appendix to Johnson's dictionary appears to the rear of volume 2 and has its own title page.
