Notes

The second edition of John Gregory's (1724-1772) book on medical ethics, the first preceding it by two years. Both editions were based on Gregory's lectures delivered at the University of Edinburgh in the previous decade, where he was professor of medicine. It remained in print into the 19th century, with later editions revised and corrected by Gregory's son James (1753-1821) who succeeded him in his professorship.
