Hugh Robinson (1583/4-1655), master of Winchester College from 1613 to 1627, wrote a number of schoolbooks for the use of his pupils which retained their popularity well after his death. This work, first appearing under this title the year before his death though containing an augmentation of earlier works, was the most popular, reaching this eleventh edition three decades later. In the way of schoolbooks, all editions are scarce. This, the last to appear, is recorded by ESTC in half a dozen locations in the UK and five in the USA (with two of them, both UCLA libraries, holding two copies each).
