  • Maxwell, Sir Herbert
  • London: Edward Arnold 1911

4to, pp. xi, [i], 205 [1] + 32 coloured plates including frontispiece. Contemporary Scottish green pebble-grain morocco by Henderson & Bisset, boards panelled with gilt rules with small flower tools at inner crossings, spine compartments bordered with a gilt rule enclosing the same flower tools at corners, top compartment gilt-lettered direct, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. Some light foxing. Spine faded, a few minor marks and scratches.

Displaying something of the proportions of Arts & Crafts style, this is a somewhat unusual binding for Henderson & Bisset - former binders to Queen Victoria and frequent producers of polished tree calf, among other more classic styles.
