Notes

A later Eton schoolbook edition of selected orations of Demosthenes, in the edition by the Irish judge and scholar Richard Mounteney (1707-1768). Mounteney was a fellow of King's College Cambridge and his text was first published in that city in 1731, though he was also a graduate of Eton and it was adopted in the curriculum there by 1748, when the second edition appeared; a member of the Eton-based Pote bookselling family appears in the imprint of every subsequent edition.
