FIRST EDITION WITH AN ALS FROM THE AUTHOR, 8vo, pp. viii, 59, [1]. Original green cloth, spine and front board lettered in gilt. Boards mottled and marked. Gift inscription to front flyleaf dated 13 November 1944, autograph letter from the author to the owner of the book dated 11 Feb 1952 loosely inserted.

The letter from Edmund Blunden to Rose Marie discusses arrangements to meet for a visit to Canterbury and Patrixbourne. This is almost certainly Rose Marie Hodgson, herself a poet - author of 'Patrixbourne: Five Country Poems' and journalist, who knew Blunden from the Oxford University English Club (where they were both officers). Hodgson had received the book shortly after publication from an L. Rov(?).
