Description

PRESENTATION COPY, 8vo, pp. iv, 45, [1] + frontispiece and 1 plate. Near-contemporary half red calf, marbled boards, spine divided by raised bands, green morocco label, other compartments tooled in gilt, marbled edges, top edge gilt. Padded out with 25 leaves of binders blanks to rear. Just a touch of soiling. A little rubbed, a few marks.

Notes

With printed compliments slip and 4 page autograph letter from author bound in at front. The letter, addressed to a Mr Harper, mentions Harper's 'complimentary request for a copy of my pamphlet for your department of the E. P. Library.' He is presumably the same Mr Harper thanked in the preface as 'Mr Harper of the Edinburgh Public Library' who provided the image for the plate included in this book. COPAC and Worldcat record only a single copy, in the NLS.
