Augustus Bozzi Granville (1783-1872) was an Italian expatriate physician who, during his long life, introduced iodine to London, promoted midwifery in medical school, reformed the Royal Society, published on spas, cardiac disease, cholera prevention, mummies, and Italian unity, among numerous other achievements. This monograph on sudden death - primarily apoplexy and paralysis, and unexplained fatalities among the young - is among the scarcer of his works.
