ONE OF 275 SMALL-PAPER COPIES, 2 vols., 8vo, pp. 48; 48. Original white card wrappers, translucent parchment dustjackets printed in black. Dustjackets spotted, browned, particularly to spine, and lightly soiled. Titles written vertically to spines in ink.

A reprint of a 1661 printing of a life of Friar Roger Bacon (c.1219-1292), philosopher and polymath. Two volumes from the Bibliotheca Curiosa project of editor Edmund Goldsmid (1849-1894), who also edited a 3 volume catalogue of the works of the Elzevier Press.
