8vo, pp. [viii], 433, [1] + extra engraved title-page and 6 plates. Extra-illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of the author. Contemporary straight-grained black morocco, boards bordered with a series of gilt drawer-handle-and-spray tools within a rope roll, enclosing a blind decorative roll and gilt corner-pieces, spine divided by raised bands, second compartment gilt-lettered direct, others with central gilt tools surrounded by blind tools, morocco joints and turn-ins, pink endpapers, edges gilt. A few leaves partly sprung, plates foxed and with a dampstain to corner (sometimes affecting adjacent pages), some other minor spotting. Extremities rubbed and a touch worn.

The engraved title-page and plates are a separate work, though sold to accompany a copy of the poem - as a result, they can be found bound in to copies of any edition between the first and the ninth, all of which appeared within 1810 and 1811. A similar suite of engravings with images by Westall was produced in the same year by a different publisher (Cromek & Sharpe), and the frontispiece in this copy has been taken from that other group of illustrations.
