12mo, pp. 317, [1]. Woodcut illustrations within text. Contemporary marbled sheep, spine divided by double gilt rules, red morocco label. Poor-quality paper foxed and toned. Binding rubbed, a bit of wear to foot.

A scarce later printing of this perennial clandestine bestseller of reproductive health. The main imprint is certainly fictitious - 'Miller, Law and Cater', according to BBTI, are 'Possibly fictitious, Probably Scottish', and in any case are primarily associated with publications of the 1790s (several of which, according to ESTC, are actually York printings for Wilson, Spence and Mawman). There is an ESTC entry for this title and imprint (McGill & Guelph only) with the conjectured date of 1795, based on other titles, but it's certainly later; York Minster date their copy to c. 1810 since the printers were active at the address in their colophon from 1809-16. The other copies (mostly dated to c. 1820) located by Library Hub are in the NLW, BL, Nottingham, KCL, and the Royal College of Physicians.
