Description

2 vols., 8vo, pp. [ii], 360; [ii], 407, [1]. Contemporary half roan, marbled boards, spine divided by raised bands between double gilt rules, red morocco label, edges sprinkled green. Some foxing. Binding rubbed, particularly to spine, a little wear to extremities, one label lost and another chipped. Armourial bookplate of Cranstoun of Corehouse to front pastedowns, ink ownership inscription of George Cranstoun to title-pages.

Notes

This copy of Samuel Foote's (1720-1777) collected dramatic works belonged to Scottish advocate George Cranstoun (1770-1850), a peer and friend of Walter Scott's.
