A pamphlet by mathematician, astronomer and Bishop of Salisbury Seth Green (1617-1689) responding to John Webster's 'Academiarum Examen,' first published a year prior, 'a fierce attack on the English universities, both for their claim to provide the training for the clergy and for their scholastic curricula.' Green was then professor of astronomy at Oxford University and takes issue with a few of Webster's ideas.
The appendix contains his attacks on Hobbes' 'Leviathan' and 'The Tryal of Spirits' by William Dell.
