FIRST EDITION, 8vo, pp. 184. Original green cloth boards backed in red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, white dustjacket printed in red and black. Some tanning to white areas of dustjacket, small tear to head of spine. Ownership inscription of Angus Calder to front flyleaf, some marginal pencil lines in part three.


Hughes' first collection following Sylvia Plath's death, Wodwo is composed primarily of poetry, with five stories and a radio play. Hughes indicates in his author's note that 'the verse and the prose are intended to be read together, as parts of a single work.'
